version with no boyband music

I liked this film a lot... it was shot, cut and scored very well and it's just a fun saturday afternoon popcorn movie... but is there a version out there with out the stupid boyband music que? that song takes me right out of the movie and reminds me of how much of a *beep* business hollywood is... i mean that song has no business being in this film... do you think Clint Eastwood would have stood for that crap 30 years ago?

total crap... anyway... if there's a version out there with no crappy boyband music i'd sure like to know about it... someone help me out... even if you're out there and you edited it yourself lemme know...

Before the film, I shared the same feelings, but Eastwood uses the song so selectively (for that one little clip), that I think that it works effectively. I mean, he didn't turn the whole soundtrack over to N'SYNC.

It does work effectively. The space cowboys song was done a long time before N'Sync updated it. They're showing the pioneers of space flight walking into a present day NASA. I believe it was meant to show that what many people today might think is new, has been around for a long time...JMO

"that song takes me right out of the movie and reminds me of how much of a *beep* business hollywood is"

the movie itself should also remind you how much of a *beep* business hollywood is

I watched this movie the other day and it seemed so dated with that music.

The Fly Me TO the Moon by Frank Sinatra was a nice touch. Shows you how timeless Frank is.

just saw that bit on tv, and I must say the nsync music definately lowered by opinion of the movie. It wasn't so much the music itself, but rather how it was paired with the four guys walking like bad-asses up to NASA. It just didn't fit.

You guys forget this is also a comedy. The N'Sync song was clearly meant to poke fun at their age and their "cocky" attitude getting in the building.
