Marcia Gay Harden's hair

Her hair style in this film has always bothered me. It looks like she is a Vulcan or Romulan from Star Trek. It just looks silly. Whoever did hair and makeup on this film did a horrible job with her.

Nowhere near as bad as Anton Chigur.

Nah - it was kinds retro 1950s pinup girl. Not too terrible. She did wind up looking like an attractive friend of mine (an older version).

I didn't care for it either. Some people can pull this look off. She is not one of them.

I think it was an attempt at making her look like a serious scientist.

Actually, this is not the only movie where she harbors this peculiar hairstyle - which befits her rather well, I find. Simply check "Pollock" - same year (2000), granted, but also "Mona Lisa Smile" (2003). It looks more like a sort of a Cleopatra-look that was all the rage after Liz immortalized it ...

She's not bad looking at all with that Egyptian coupe :-)

Reminded me of the actress from Galaxy Quest. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0177789/combined

I agree - when I started to watch this movie today (after not seeing it for a few years) I thought that the look was similar to one of the aliens in Galaxy Quest!

Came here to comment the same thing. It looked like she was rocking a mullet. God awful haircut.
