Two Issues.....

I love this movie. But there are a couple of things I question. Hawk's "landing" on the moon isn't one of them. That one I can forgive for sentimental reasons.

1. Did Bob and the Russian really think nobody would see those six ICBMs when they went inside the satellite?

2. When "Jonny Quest" was EVA screwing things up, why was Mission Control sitting there saying nothing? They should have been ordering him to stop.

If you were observing this nutty planet, would YOU want to make contact?

1.) It was a calculated risk since the guidance system, etc. weren't amidst the missiles and in fact might have been fully hidden from view w/ intact panels/ covers had not the radar from the shuttle "annoyed" it upon approach.

2.) The shuttle/ mission commander was already issuing orders to the idiot while Mission Control only has a limited view plus verbal commands from Houston would overlap the commander's making both non-understandable.

Yes, some movies do make it harder than others esp. sci-fi per the laws of physics, for use viewers to successfully effect the "willing suspension of disbelief." :-)

Just don't sweat the petty/ minor things (EVERY movie has 'em) and "go w/ the flow" to enjoy a feel-good movie starring 6 great actors!

P.S. The only person in my best friend's family from high school onward whom I've never met: his sister who died aboard the Columbia space shuttle....

It's ALL about perspective & what really matters.
