What if it were made into a movie?

It'll probably never be made (since its a 20 year old game), but who would you cast in a Punch-Out movie?
For Doc, there is only one choice in my mind...Reginald VelJohnson (TV's Carl Winslow and the Twinkie cop from Die Hard).
As for Little Mac, I was thinking Justin Long (from Dodgeball)
Bob Hoskins as Referee Mario (he played Mario once already)
And that's about all the casting I can think of at the moment.

Samuel L. Jackson could play "Great Tiger"
Bolo Yeung(Bloodsport)or Ralph Macchio could play "Piston Honda"
Mike Tyson could play "Mike Tyson" (of course)
Jake Gyllenhaal could play "Little Mac"
Kevin Bacon could play "Glass Joe"

Billy Bob Thorton as Sodapop Insky
Michael Clark Duncan as Mr. Sandman
Brock Lesner from the WWE as Super Macho Man
and i can't agree with you more that Doc should be played by Carl Winslow

I like the suggestions so far aside from the ones for Little Mac. Keep in mind that you need to cast someone who is pretty damn short for Little Mac, as that was pretty much the basis of the game Punch out.

Tony Burton (Apollo Creed's manager from Rocky I and II) could play Little Mac's trainer, Doc Lewis.

Fabio could be Super Macho Man (heh heh).

Ron Jeremy could be Mario the referee, lol.

Rico Constantino (from the WWE) could be Don Flamenco.

Leo Dicaprio could be Little Mac (I dunno if he's that small though).

Who the heck could play King Hippo or Bald Bull?!?!?!?!?

George Foreman could be in it and it'd be called George Foreman's Grill-Out.

Michael Clark Duncan as Mr. Sandman

Now that's perfect casting!

Here's a few to add

Louis Lombardi http://67.15.90.81/thumbs/tn.DC.215632.jpg as King Hippo http://www.leonardite.com/wvba/images/hippoback.gif

Charles Barkley http://tahoecelebritygolf.com/Players/images/Barkley-Charles.jpg as Bald Bull http://www.saturn.dti.ne.jp/~kamei/game/punch/bull.gif

William H Macy http://eur.yimg.com/i/xp/premier_photo/4/48cc89c6c2.jpg as Von Kaiser http://members.aol.com/gallery7v/punch4.jpg

John Travolta http://www.askmen.com/men/entertainment_150/pictures_150/john_travolta/john_travolta_150.jpg as Don Flamenco http://members.aol.com/gallery7v/punch6.jpg

Kirk Douglas http://www.metroactive.com/papers/sonoma/08.03.00/gifs/douglas-0031.jpg as Super Macho Man http://fffrenzy.mcmadi.com/images/supermachoman.gif (I know Mr. Douglas is like 80 something an infirmed, but look at that resemblence!)

OK, now I gotta go get a life!

I know the perfect actor to play Don Flamenco. The guy who played Danny Taylor's brother in Without A Trace (the actor is Alex Fernandez) looks exactly like Don Flamenco would in real life. The first time I saw him on an episode of WAT, I was like "WTF, that actor looks so much like D.F. you'd swear it actually was him"!

Boston still sucks! 26 championships for the Yanks. Only 6 for the Sox! Any questions Red Sox fans?

How about Elijah Wood for little mac?

Robert De Niro could have played Super Macho Man (the guy before Mike Tyson) in the early 90's. he looks just like Macho Man in Cape Fear!

Reginald Veljohnson would have been perfect for Doc.

"Attempted murder? Now honestly, what is that? Do they give a Nobel Prize for attempted chemistry?"

This is hilarious, the casting is perfect but you know it would suck no matter how they did it. Even still, I'd watch.

They did, it's called rocky.
