It's not lighhearted, but it does have a feel good happy ending. It's a good suspenseful film, that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I would say not for the whole family, kids under 14 probably should not see it.

"Quite an experience to live in fear, isn't it?"
That sounds right. The film has 3 different parts: science fiction (Northern Lights seen in New York City) A murder mystery that spans 30 years and a
father-son relationship that also changes over 30 years. Ther are some sad moments but it has that feel-good Hollywood ending.
That's what I needed to know.
