Remember Yahoo, WTF?
Are they suggesting just by learning the word Yahoo at his childhood, Gordo founded Yahoo later in his life? It's so moronic but not unexpecting coming from an Emmerich.

shareNot found Yahoo, buy Yahoo stock.
shareThat was my interpretation as well. He was told to remember the word 'Yahoo', that it would be good for him or bring him luck. When Yahoo Inc floated on the stock market, he would have bought it cheap and made millions (assuming he sold before the crash in 2000/2001 lol)
share^^^This.
John merely implanted the word into young Gordo's mind so that later in life he would remember it and buy into Yahoo and make lots of money.

Ah this board. Never fails to crack me up. The ones calling BS are usually the ones dispensing it. If you can't comprehend simplistic "plot points" like these, why are you even here bitching about the movie being moronic? You're the moron. Now go read a book and try to educate yourself.

ha wicked post, I second your comments.
shareYears ago my uncle was a commercial pilot. He came back from a west coast trip one time and was all excited. He ate at this new restaurant called Taco Bell and loved it. It was set to go public and he told everyone he knew to buy in. He did and it was one of his better investments; and he did well. I still remember that. So I guess a kid could remember a funny name (even without the part about buying into it.)
Remember Rabbit Ears with tin foil?
Early in the film, Gordo mentions his regrets about not buying stock in Yahoo when he had the chance. So by being told to remember the name, older Gordo will be likely to buy stock in Yahoo when it comes around.
