Satch

I love the scene where Satch is talking to Franks wife in the diner and the game is on in the background. When he hears the Cleon Jones shoepolish thing , the look on his face is priceless. Then he goes to the tv and everything starts playing out just as Frank says, his facial expressions are pure gold.

I love scenes like that. Reminds me of the opening scene of The Way Way Back. You see Steve Carell driving the car on the way to the summer beach house. And he is staring back at 'Duncan' in the back seat. You only see Steve's eyes while he talking. Very mezmorizing, and a look into what kind of character Steve turned out to be in the film.

I guess they figured that having that in ,is like present day husbands/wives. Excuse me,I know your hubby is a suspect in a murder,BUT the games on!

reply

I love when he realizes that Frank is telling the truth.

I've come to like !
He reminds me too of the very likeable Bill Duke in "Predator"

When it comes to the game results, his face is all a poem by itself,
to be contrasted with Biff Tannen's in similar circumstances
in "Back To The Future 2" !

I love those scenes, they're hilarious! The wife is crying devastated that her husband is being accused of being a serial murderer, and he gets up halfway to watch a baseball game, lol!

reply

;-) In Satch's defense, it was the World Series.

I wondered if he had time to bet on the game's result. But copes wouldn't do that, right?

Andre Braugher is awesome at those "little moments."

"No, no, I'm telling you, he's saying that the "John" he's talking too on the radio, is Johnny, in-the-future". Awesome scene! It always pisses me off that Satch's partner gives access to the killer guy to go 'talk' to 'fireboy', he just wants to see what he knows, the guy isn't even a part of that preceint! Wouldn't you be like, uh, maybe, but first of all, who the hell are you?!
