liked the movie, but still, that was reckless..?

i liked the movie overall, but wasn't it very reckless of john to try to fix things after he realized he saved his dad but his mom got killed because of what he changed?

he told his father to follow the would-be victims, but as we saw, it put his dad in danger and almost got him killed. couldn't he, as a cop, figure this out?

He was thinking of saving his mother, he didn't think it all the way through clearly. Once he saved his dad, that caused the death of his mom and 6 other women. He was reckless, because he was thinking of himself.

He also wanted to save the other women. He wasn't JUST thinking of his mom. Obviously he wanted to save her but he wanted to prevent the others as well. Otherwise he wouldn't have had his dad following the others, he would have just had his dad get his mom out of town like his dad had suggested.

reply

Without that piece, the movie is 40 minutes long.

reply

Well, it WAS reckless and that's why Frank was so hesitant to do it. But the way John saw it, by saving his dad seven other people (later eight) died. He didn't mean for it to happen but it only happened because of his actions. He didn't want to just leave those innocent people to their fate.

reply

Yeah, these scenes were the weakest point of the movie.
