What's the scariest moment for you?

For me, for whatever reason, it's when Heather is giving her drippy-nosed monologue and a feint branch cracks in the middle of it, and her eyes just instantly dart towards it to look off into the distance...really bothers me for some reason.

It's my favourite horror film of all time, so there are a lot of scary moments in it for me. The obvious answers is the entire ending scene in the house (I don't think I've ever been more on edge or held my breath longer when watching a movie scene), but I'd also add when they hear the giggling in the night and also when they're running through the forest and Heather yells "what the fck was that?!" but we never see what she was seeing, so we can only imagine what it was.

Besides the ending scene where Heather is screaming in the house, I'd say the children's laughter and the shaking of the tent.

When they enter the house. Not even the biggest detractor can say it's not a very tense and scary moment. Unless you watched in the middle of the day with your friends.

Also the kids laughing and kicking the tent.

If I don't reply, you're probably on my ignore list for something I forgot already

Everything that everyone else has mentioned, but also the way they cried out for Josh. It didn't sound like acting. It sounded real. Desperate and chilling.

Always & forever, the yawning gaping black empty windows of the cabin.

Holy hell, fear of potential is the worst & back in '99 I could not sit still while they went up & down the house, with the windows tormenting me lols. Daring me not to look for some unforeseen pop up scare.

Because that's all in my head. It's what we're afraid of most, what we imagine could be.

For me, the scariest moment was paying good money to see this load of absolute garbage!!!

I have NEVER walked out on any movie, any time, but I came so close to it in this.......

What an absolute load of drivel!!!

Aren’t you special.

For me, it's when Josh goes missing, and then later on, at night, Heather & Mike can hear his voice screaming in the distance...but they don't really know if it's him. I found that to be somewhat eerie.

I didn't find it at all scary when I saw it in the theater.

But later on home video, it was creepier.

I think the part that was saddest and the scariest was for me, after Josh disappears, Heather is filming Mike in the tent and he is just moving back and forth. Then she goes to hug him. I think that scene indicates that both of them know they are doomed.
