Lets say, and imagine it could be possible, that you are invited to stay a night in the same haunted hospital. All events play out the same way, and now you and someone else are trapped out on a ledge with a check each for a million dollars.

It's gonna be a while before someone see's you up there to call for help to get you down.

Do you sit and wait for help and start up a conversation with the other person... or push them off the ledge after you swipe their check so you now have 2 million. Just tell people the ghosts pushed him as he climbed out the window!

Personally, I am not a murderer. But I wondered why there was no mention of him in the sequel?

Actually there were 5 separate million dollar checks. So you'd need to somehow get the other checks to make the murder worthwhile. And since the body would be found below, those extra checks in your possession would provide motive for you to be the killer. You'd have a lot of explaining to do and probably would never get to enjoy your extra millions.
