This movie had absolutely nothing to do with the book. Even half the names of main characters were incorrect. The movie was similar to a book as much as a turd is similar to gold. therefore poeple thinking the book would be bad because of this movie simply doesn't know what thier missing.

that argument again. irony of life, how a guy can write one of the best science-fiction books ever to be written then turn around and start a cult. then again you know the saying, if you want to get rich, start a religion.
regardless of his views, he wrote fantastic science fiction books, and they are worth the time. if you like science fiction, then you are missing a lot by not reading him merely for his scientology status.

Scientology is obviously a scam, and anyone who has any self worth/confidence knows this. However, the book is a great read. This of it like a Saturday morning tv serial - except in book form, well worth checking out.
shareCorrection. The FIRST HALF is a good read (although it has enough errors of its own), the second half just really drags though.
