Did anyone see this in theaters?

I didn't, but I heard a girl I went to school with say her dad saw it while it was in theaters.

I think I vaguely remember my mom saying something about my dad and I possibly going to see it together, but I assume that the plans of doing that were cancelled due to the enormously negative response it received.

For those unlucky ones who saw it in theaters, what was the reaction? Were people laughing at scenes meant to be serious? Were they walking out? Were they making their own riffs, a la MST3K?

I worked at a theater, so I figured why the hell not. Thank God I didn't pay, cause I was regarding this film at best as mediocre.

Yeah my father took me to see when I was a kid. Thought it was retarded. Still do, but I guess I can appreciate it in a "so bad it's good" sort of way.

I saw it twice and I really enjoyed it. There weren't any walkouts. No one was laughing at the serious bits.

Seeing it with a room full of scientologists will do that.

Yep.

I remember seeing the trailers back when I lived in GA. I worked at a Hardee's near a theater at the time, and went to see it right after I got off work. I'm one of the few lunatics who likes this movie...so much that I bought the German blu-ray (the only blu out there). I don't know what it is about it, but I think it's got that inept charm that old 80's schlock does.
