I know it's terrible and quite possibly the worst film of all time, and yet I can't help but like it. Perhaps it's the possibility of what could have been. I'm reading the book now and it's fantastic. I can see why they wanted it made into a film and possibly a trilogy. I feel the execution was all wrong and the director blew it. I like it mind you, but for the wrong reasons
shareYeah, I think the expectations were set too high, and people just wanted to not like a Scientology based film. Although, I think any film with a religious agenda will attract that type of negative attention. I'll never see this movie again, but I did like the overall idea of the story.

It's silly for the "religious" backing and how it tanked at the box office.
It's FABULOUS for how it portrayed a bunch of crazy people trying to break into Hollywood at this level.

Oh. And it revived platform shoes as a fashion accessory.
