It's been close to 10 years already, Vince needs to do that name some justice and sell the naming rights to whoever is interested in buying it. TNA doesn't know what it's doing, the impact zone is boring. They don't even travel, Vince needs to bring WCW back. But make the look and size of the ring different. Either that or sell the naming rights already, I'm pretty sure people would bid big money to own it
Vince will no way EVER sell WCW name, etc. Being an owner of the company that almost put him out of business is a major trophy. It must suck for STING, he doesnt like WWE, but yet they own all his video library. I guess he will like WWE one day and get a new DVD out or something.
The Government will eventually force Vince to sell all the WCW and ECW footage to someone who will do justice to it. I for one by god want official DVD Boxed sets just like what the wwe puts out except they all should be uncensored. That means no matches cut including Chris Benoit's, no theme music being cut. Vince Mcmahon is a heartless piece of crap who used people like Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage up and then threw them away when he didn't need them anymore. On these boxed sets we want the uncut versions for many of the early ones, not the Tapes. If the WWE continues to ignore this a big group of fans will get together and sue them in court demanding all this footage so that we can finally have what we've been wanting for years!
He will never sell it....he's making money off video packages he puts together such as the best of randy savage....best of nitro....best of wcw.....he vince mcmahon.....he is a money ego....he ruined wrestling when he purchase the wcw.....i remember when he did it....i now watch tna....i like it....whole lot better then the wwe crap.....but nothing like wcw......i 100% agree with wmdude1255
I wish the rights to WCW were in the hand of someone else too. I know there's no chance of that happening. That's why I hoped TNA or someone would acquire footage from defucnt companies like WWA, 3PW, XWF... Even SMW and WCCW before Mcmahon bought those. Many guys from ECW, WCW/NWA and WWE were in those companies that probably won't have much of their more popular footage released.
Thankfully, Big Vision Entertainment has released footage over the years from a number of companies. They own the XPW footage.
Reboot, restart or re-imagining is another word for remake
Agreed. WCW is now a memory. All the stars that were big back then are either old or retired. Do you think anyone would want to see the OLD STINGER vs the VERY OLD Flair?
Yes it sucks WCW is no more, but just thank WCW management for that.
There is no chance in hell(LOL..just like his song)...vince will be selling that name or anything with it, he has a WWE channel on the horizon and will be using that footage im sure. Not to mention all the money he can make with DVD sales and merchandise sales. WCW is long gone....but never forgotten. Miss those days....:-(
In the slim chance that WWE would want to sell the naming and other rights to WCW, who would want them? And why?
I'm sure many people would have bought the rights to WCW had they known it would be sold for so cheap. Jeff Jarrett put lots of money into starting TNA. Flair & Hogan said in their books that he would have tried to buy it if they knew the price suddenly lowered. Bischoff & Hogan have since wanted to start their own company. The original price was much more than what Vince paid for it. Part of that had to do with Time Warner/AOL getting rid of certain things after Ted Turner lost control. Part of it may have had to do with someone being in on WCW being sold so cheap, specifically to Vince Mcmahon, because the price didn't drop until he bidded for it.
I don't feel as bad when I think about the fans that collect and sell WCW footage. WWE underuses footage from other companies so much that they end up doing themselves more of an injustice than they do to the fans. Some fans like myself probably wouldn't pay for WWE's DVDs of other companies because over the years they've collected footage or acquired it in other ways. Sometimes I feel WCW footage is underused so some fans can't judge it for themselves, they'd see most of it was a realistic wrestling show and wasn't half as bad as some fans claim.

I read that WWE or wwf at that time had a pending lawsuit with TIME WARNER...believe it or not, something to do with the HALL and NASH likeness or that WWF was invading the WCW....WWE during the negotiating dropped the lawsuit and purchased WCW for a song....
