I would love it if someone at WWE would convince Vince to start releasing RAW and NITRO episodes on DVD.
Since it was a weekly show, they could easily release every volume as a half-year of shows.
There were some years (1996 and 1997) when NITRO was must-see TV and some lean years. But I was such a huge fan of WCW (and the WWF) that I would easily justify putting down the money to buy NITRO and RAW on DVD.
They wont do it. At least not yet. They might do certain matches like a dvd about nitro's greatest matches, the reason why is because the old story lines might have an effect on the current ones, for example, rey mysterio lost his mask in wcw & his face is on nitro for like 2 years Unmasked. Then he comes back with a mask (WWE made him or so i heard) & now they try to hide his face like he never was unmasked & all his true fans already know he was unmasked but that doesnt matter to them, theyll still probably do an unmasking line all over again. So thats why u go to rey at wwe look at theyre classic matches u see rey in matches BEFORE he was unmasked lol all those other good matches unmasked seem to be wiped from his history dont ya think lol.

Try searching ebay frequently. Ive never seen raw is war on dvd, but i have seen on at least 3 occasions, the 1998 season of nitro on copied dvds, also i bought 96 to 99 for almost $300. I havent received it yet cause i just bought it this week but i cant wait. I still think raw should release their episodes as seasons too. 96 97 and 98 of raw were excellent episodes too and would love to have them as season releases.
shareman what you wish for and what you get from the wwe in relation to wcw will be 2 differenet things, i bought monday nights wars last year, all you get is one side of the story i.e. am vince and i crushed the wcw i bought up my competition. Cool seeing small parts of WCW in its glory. Kinda wish WCW used Bret in a better way, that was there major turning part when they got him when the screw job happened , coulda used that as a major stepping stone to spring them over wwe. Insted they stuck him in the stable of nWo which was cool dont get me wrong, but ya cant bring bret in and not talk about the screw job. Loved the way eric use to come out on monday nights and tell what hapopened on raw. Hes still a prick for not using Stone Cold. WTF like how can you let austin leave.

Yeah they have "The Monday Night Wars" on WWE 24/7 which is the Raw and Nitro from whatever given time they are at. Right now they are at the January 6th, 1997 Raw & Nitro. I've been taping "The MOnday Night Wars" since I got 24/7 and I have half of 1996. Hopefully one day I can transfer that stuff to DVD.
