Nearly Beat Vince at his own game

The thing about this program in the beginning that made it great was that it
nearly put the WWF out of business. They followed the same formula that Mcmahon
had used years ago: Buying out the top stars from a promotion. They also
started emphasizing the crusierweights which the WWE now refuses to do. The only
way mcmahon survived was to create a rip-off of the NWO called DX, put his
money on Stone Cold Steve Austin and forget about the family audience which
helped make him a millionaire to begin with. Everyone knows that the Smackdown!
title is just the WCW World Heavywight Title.

Yeah Bischoff came close to winning the war, but unfortunately there was too much politics backstage and in the office at WCW. Also they never built up new stars and persisted with Hogan vs Flair. WCWs roster had so much talent and guys like Jericho, Guerrero, Booker T, Benoit, etc, could have all been main event stars.
