WCW Worldwide/Pro

Did anyone ever go to a taping of WCW Worldwide or Pro? I remember back in the day they reportedly had 2 days worth of marathon tapings for the syndicated WCW Worldwide/Pro in Universal Studios in Orlando Florida. Supposedly, all admission was free for these tapings, but I'm not sure. Can anybody shed some light on this, or just want to talk about Worldwide or Pro? Discuss...

They switched to the marathon tapings format around 1994 to save money.

In the 1980s, they did their tapings in arenas. I watched both programs although I was more a fan of Worldwide which seemed to feature better action especially in the late 1980s.

I really have fond memories of this show, especially the last 2 years they did it in the remodeled "Worldwide Area" circa 1997-1998.

I was in college at the time, and it would come on in my neck of the woods 11am on Saturday Mornings.(Later switched to Saturday late-nights, then back to Saturdays at 12pm before ending it's run when the company did.)

A lot of people hated the format, I.E. 5-6 short matches per a 1 hour show. I liked it, as even if a match was bad it almost never overstayed it's welcome. (Unlike in The WWE today.)

Those last couple of years produced some memorable matches; Macho Man vs Ultimo Dragon, Harlem Heat vs Silver King and LaParka, Giant vs Glacier, DDP vs Fit Finley, etc.
