A little help
I'm a second year A Level Media Studies student doing a research unit on All About My Mother. The title of my research question is:
"What is the audience's response to Almodovar's exploration of gender in the film All About My Mother?"
I'd greatly appreciate it if you could answer the following questions from me. It may seem lazy, but I'm going to use your feedback as a part of my evaluation.
Thanks
Josh
Would you consider yourself as a fan of Pedro Almodóvar?
Is All About My Mother one of your favourite films of his?
Is Almodovar one of the great modern directors of women, and does this hinder the more masculine aspects of his films?
Do you agree with Almodóvar’s idea that solidarity only exists amongst women?
Are Almodovar’s later films a more accurate presentation of the differences in genre when compared to earlier films (Pepi, Luci, Bom etc)?
Do you feel that if a play other than A Streetcar Named Desire was at the heart of the film, it’d work as well?
I’d argue that one of the most important moments in the whole film is Agrado giving a condensed account of her life story on stage. Which scenes, in your view, are the most vital?
Motherhood is the unifying theme of the film. Would you agree that Huma and Nina, Manuela and Rosa become almost mother/daughter relationships?
