Alberto Del Rio was released by WWE in September following an unsuccessful comeback run and a suspension for violating the WWE wellness policy, and he returned to Mexico to work for for Asistencia Asesoria y Administracion, where he wrestled previously as Alberto El Patron.

Alberto, whose real name is Jose Alberto RodrÃguez, made headlines over the weekend after he was a no-show at AAA's Heroes Inmortales X, where he was scheduled to wrestle in the main event Sunday night. AAA released a statement afterward criticizing Rodriguez for his "lack of commitment" and claiming that he failed his Mexican fans.

It turns out that Rodriguez had a good reason to miss the show. He released a statement on Instagram, directed at AAA, claiming he was assaulted and stabbed before his flight to Monterrey. Del Rio says he will be able to compete this weekend.

I hope he recovers and gets back to AAA. I suppose he could show them medical documentation as proof if he's in trouble with them.

too bad it was in mexico... if it wasn't an american he woulda got his neck !.. oh well
