Rain: I love films with a “rain scene” in them.

The “rain scene” should be a genre of film within itself.

Wonder Boys has a great “rain scene”. Man alive, picture M.D’s character, dressed in this hideous gown, wearing glasses, hands in pocket, shivering…It’s perfect.

oh yes i'm all about rain scenes. and this one hits the head.

reply

Yeah I agree. There's just something strangely upsetting and emotinal about them, dunno why but I always get pretty sulky and tearful watching rain scenes in movies.

reply

They can loose their effect outside the cinema however. Quite a few good ones in High Fidelity too

Thats one of the first things that struck me. Seeing him walk out in his garb like that right after such a messed up day. Theres something beautifully tagic about it, so human so real and so funny.

reply

Yup, 100%.

M D's a very good actor. He's got such a cool voice.

You all should watch Godzilla, the only thing I remember about that movie is that it was raining in damn near every scene. Just kidding, don't watch that movie. Unless you really have a rain fetish.

It's true! Rain scenes are great, very emotional. I just realised that my two favourite films, High Fidelity and Garden State, both have GREAT rain scenes!
