The Dean and Chancellor seemed awfully young to have those positions at a University. And the Dean gets pregnant and ends up having the baby. So she would have had to be under 45. Aren't most deans and chancellors in their 50's? ("I've got tenure.")

Yes I agree. John-boy will seem like he's 16 for the rest of his life. Francis is ageless tho. Must be she was so brilliant that they made her an exception.

Also, since you brot it up, I wonder,... if Grady had tenure, like he said, how did he loose his job, like he said he did in his book at the end of the movie?

BTW, I think that the ending of this movie is the best ending in movie history. imo. : >) : )

Correct me if I am wrong board, but I think tenure doesn't mean you can't get fired no matter what.

Rather that it is incredibly difficult to get fired and takes a lot of red tape so generally speaking people with tenure don't get fired.

I would imagine there are extreme circumstances I would put money that universities can still fire said individual.

Yes you are right. It is tough to get rid of tenured professors unless they do some really stupid thing like sleep with their students, mismanage research funds or kill someone... :-)

You are wrong about this. According to the National Institutes of Health, the average age for the onset of menopause for U.S. women is 51, which means that many women stop being able to have children considerably later than 51. Yes, it is more likely for younger women to get pregnant, but you are incorrect that she "she would have had to be under 45."
