shareI agree with you that it's a kids movie and should be taken as such, but when there are so many kids movies out there now that are made enjoyable for the parents too, movies like this just don't cut it anymore.

Dude, this movie was made 8 years ago...It didn't have time to get caught up into the new wave of movies for kids... *Yes, I'm aware toy story was released 5 years pior, giving birth to the new generation.*
Not only that, but it was made by nickelodeon for crying out loud.
Personally, I think it's much easier to enjoy a kid's film when you yourself get into the mind state of a kid. Don't be so afraid to be a kid again. You might just like it.
I grew up in Cali so I never had snow days, (I had bad hair days) but I'm sure adults could grow nostalgic remembering what they did themselves on snow days.
So again, don't compare this movie to movies made last year. It's been 8 years. Just drop it.
