Filmed in Canada?
Why was this movie filmed in Canada if it's supposed to be New York?
Harvey Milk: You gotta give 'em hope.

Movies aren't always filmed where the setting is. Especially a movie that would have to close down a whole block to cover it in snow. Try doing that in New York.
Its Simple...Kill The Batman.

Ooookkkk....so? Did you know Fantastic Four didn't really film on the Brooklyn Bridge? Amazing, I know! I, Robot didn't really film in 2035 either. MIND BLOWING! Queer As Folk was supposed to be in Pittsburgh, but they also filmed in Canada.
My point is, most movies don't film on location, it's too much work. It is cheaper to film in Canada or even in a backlot at a California studio then to shoot in a real place where you have to pay the city and only film at certain parts on the day. How would you feel if a movie came and closed down your block, filled it with snow, and you couldn't leave your house or have someone come over, nothing.
Snow Day probably filmed in Canada because, from what I remember, they filmed during the summer, so they have to film in a cold place.

The average high temperature in Edmonton (which is where a lot of the film was shot) in July is 73 F, for your information.
It was shot in the winter, and I remember Chevy Chase complaining about how cold it was.
And thank you for correcting me...2 years later. Man, things on the internet never die.
That's right, bitches. I got a crossbow.
they filmed the one scene with the snowmobiles in my high schools football field then randomly teleported 5 km away to the river valley.
