What other Shakespeare tragdies would translate good into a teen drama?

Other then Hamlet, which I have seen in modern day books and also a movie, and of course Romeo and Juliet.

"Take my hand, I'll lead you to salvation"

Well, they already did "10 Things I Hate About You", which was based on "The Taming of the Shrew" and also starred Julia Stiles.

And Romeo and Juliet already IS a teen drama. :-)

King Lear.

The right writer could make it work. Look at the author of A Thousand Acres. Besides, it's just a suggestion.

OK fine then. Scratch Lear and replace it with MacBeth but students killing one another kinda leaves a bad taste in everyone's mouths.

I wrote a story about MacBeth in a modern teen drama a year ago for my creative writing class where we had to make a classic story or play into a modern day story. That's why I had wrote this topic to decide what to do.

"Don't they know they're making love to one already dead?!"

Back in my Creative Writing class some 15 years ago, we had a similar project. I ended up modernizing my take on The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

An elite private school's headmaster is about to retire and descends into madness while trying to decide which of his three daughters will succeed him which leads to its tragic outcome.

Yeah I thought the same thing after posting and then re-reading it. Maybe he's the president of some major company and he's stepping down and each of his three daughters are CEOs with the potential of inheriting his position over it.
