Getting all bent out of shape over a plain woman

I saw this film for the first time since I saw it in theaters all those years ago. And it finally hit me how average-looking Jim Carrey's wife was in this film. This is the woman who marries him at the start of the film and whose infidelity and departure cause Carrey's self-esteem and mental well-being to crumble. When I first saw this film, I thought she was pretty. But today, I look at her and I'm wondering what the fuss is all about.

Don't get me wrong. She's not ugly. But for the first time ever, I've realized that the film doesn't work because the woman who causes the life-changing mental breakdown (the cheating wife at the beginning of the film) is only a 5.5, maybe a 6 on her best day. In short, this is not the kind of woman you step out onto the ledge over. Jim Carrey should have just moved on immediately and found himself a real hottie.

We must be talking to someone thats never been ina real relationship before. There is more to loving someone than looks. Now run along virgin

reply

Love isn't about look's. You sound just plain shallow

reply

Yes because we know everybody marries someone for looks alone.

Stupid.
