What was up with the mustaches in the movies? First every trooper had one, then they all didn't.

They all had moustaches when the kids were little because it was supposed to be the 1970's, then when the kids were grown it was present day and moustaches were no longer in style.

the beginning didn't take place in the 1970's... it took place in 1982

Must have been some kind of group thing with the troopers. They all were going to look-a-like....kinda like the Army. Where I live just about every cop has a shaved head.

Most cops have there shaved head because a person cannot pull there hair in a fight or if they have to detain someone..

They were called 'porn star' moustaches ... after Harry Reems, male star of 'Deep Throat' fame.
