The fireplace
Is there any significance to the fireplaces? Everywhere Andrew goes, there is a fireplace. It may mean nothing, but I found it interesting.

Maybe like his emerging sentience, the flames are fluid and not predictable like his robotic and eventually humanish body were... the movie does end with the fireplace in the background competely out and as time went on those fireplaces got smaller as well.
