People understand Stewie - S19 01 makes no sense

Stewie's 'first word'?

What?

Louis [sic] and Stewie have CONVERSATIONS in the early episodes, Louis [sic] responds to the EXACT things Stewie says in an unmistakable way. There is no mistaking this.

How does it make any sense that this character talks for 18 seasons and then suddenly it's his 'first word'? I know there's supposed to be a controversy of people 'not understanding Stewie', but as I recall from the early episodes, even airport staff has actual discussions with him and answer his questions and whatnot.

There's also the famous 'I thought you didn't understand me' (although he does seem to anyway in other episodes), that clearly proves Peter understands him.

Stewie has had SO many conversations with SO many people, so many adults, and so many times with Louis and Peter and especially Brian, who clearly is understood by adults as well, so... I don't get how this whole 'no understands Stewie' even happen, when so many people seem to understand him just fine.

In any case, based on all the evidence from other episodes, 'Stewie's first word' makes no sense.

Just watching episode two of season three; 'Brian Does Hollywood'. Stewie says something like 'Daddy is old, he is seven' and four adult people laugh at that.

I don't get how Season 19 could show Stewie's FIRST WORD, when he has already been understood to speak multiple words by these four adult people. When you comb through these earlier seasons, you are going to find SO MANY EXAMPLES where people actually understand Stewie just fine, without problems, directly, exactly what he's saying, etc. that it's IMPOSSIBLE for him to say his 'first word' in Season 19.

What happened here? Did they forget what they had already created earlier? Did they retcon the whole thing? Did they not care? How can it be possible? TV shows are full of inaccuracies, plotholes, retcons, contradictions and all that, but this has got to be one of the most RIDICULOUS lies I have ever seen a TV show do.

So many episodes of so many seasons show so many adults and even children and animals understand Stewie perfectly.

There is no excuse and it makes no sense.

I also don't really care what some 'let's write one line reply'-type cretin has to say, especially since they are not even talking about the point.

P.S. Lois, Lewis, Louis, etc.. they sound exactly the same, so english pronunciation makes no sense. If I just hear a word, how am I supposed to know how it's written without researching it? This show is certainly not worth that kind of effort, so me calling her Louis is actually poignant.

If all you have to say is I misspelled a word that can be pronounced about 8 zillion ways because I don't care to research a show that is this nonsensical, you can just congratulate yourself on your cleverness and keep your rumblings in your stomach, I don't care. I care about grammar, spelling COMMON, SIMPLE ENGLISH words correctly. I don't mind if someone spells 'pulchritudinous' incorrectly, or chooses the wrong spelling of someone's name, when they have only heard it and haven't seen it written, and it can be spelled 'Lewis' or 'Louis' or 'Lichtengurden', and neither should you.

But to not be able to choose between 'their' and 'they're' is INEXCUSABLE. So try to at least be logical and fair in your corrections.. I would never correct anyone with something like this, but if they claim to be fans of Ai Takahashi and then spell her name Ey Tukahesha, THAT is going to be a problem.

Whenever I correct someone, I always try to ALSO include something else in my post, that has some kind of relevance to the discussion at hand or the point someone is trying to make. I wouldn't write a crap-post like 'Durr.. she is not Louis, duh huh, she's Lois, ahaha'. Sigh. When will people learn civility, logic and intelligence? Let alone wisdom..?

P.P.S. Lenience must also be shown with long posts, where some typos are bound to have crept in.. you can't write a really long post without accidentally typoing some words unless you are some kind of master of time and space. I am not even the master of space bar (badum-tsskkh).

I'm sorry you seem offended that I corrected you. But Louis is a male's name and Lois is a female's name. And Lois Griffin is a woman. I said you had some good points before. I guess the show is just inconsistent. But please don't take what I said personally.

He has no "good points". He would have good points if he was discussing a real-life witness' description of a series of events where accuracy and truth would be contradicted with inaccuracies and lies, but in an animated TV show where a newborn speaks to people other than his family and the family dog is not only sentient but also speaks perfect English and, besides being the only speaking dog in history, no one seems to notice, maybe parsing tv shows and movies is an exercise in pure stupidity.

BEWARE! Avortac4 is a troll trying to waste everyone's time with such idiotic comments. Look at his posts. He doesn't think anything in any film makes sense. His post may seem like it makes sense in the first sentence or two. But he always quickly wanders off into a completely idiotic idea, and then writes a wall of text that makes no sense. And his sole purpose is to waste your time, thinking he's cute for doing so. Don't feed the troll. If you write a comment, you're giving this troll EXACTLY what he wants. Don't comment after my comment.

This show is certainly not worth that kind of effort,

And yet you wrote that entire diatribe anyway.

Sorry, it's *you* that doesn't make sense.
