do people who like family guy also like simpsons?

i'm watching the episode of family guy where they make an hour join in episode with the simpsons, and i was wondering if you had rather seen two full episodes centre around the griffins or if this is an appreciated episode? does it perhaps get the same vibe as those episodes in "married with children" where they invited other series sometimes to join in, which after reading some comments is not popular with the married with children watchers, speaking of sit-coms, i like family guy's comment on today's kind of comedy shows with a voiceover going: "tv - that thing you used to watch". spot on, right. i liked the fred flintstone cameo in the family guy/simpsons episode, yabadabado. family guy and the simpsons used to air after each other in my country before family guy moved to the middle of the night here with an opening caution label warning about the series content...

Not necessarily. I never had watched The Simpsons before watching Family Guy. Of course, just last year, I would say that I actually "watched" The Simpsons and I enjoyed it up until the end of the first season. If I were to pick a t.v. show just based on the first season alone, I would go with Family Guy. I think it would be my generation's The Simpsons.

I love both shows, although both were much better in their early years, much better humor and satire. It's amazing how Simpsons were controversial when they started, they weren't nearly as crude as Family Guy.

Agreed. simpsons seasons 1-10 (Season 4 is the best, imo) and family guy seasons 1-3 are pure gold imo.

Same here! The Simpsons season 4 contains my fav episodes "Duffless" & "Lisa's First Word." good stuff those early days

I used to like Simpsons... Up to season 8 or 9. Afterward, i stopped caring. Even though I think Family Guy is getting more and more lame, I still highly enjoy it.

Simpsons was great until about year 10 although there are a couple of good ones sprinkled through later years.

I didn't like Family Guy until it returned from it's cancellation. I find the later ones sharper and funnier than the current Simpsons although there are more and more instances when FG is so far over the line the jokes not only bomb but are actually embarrassing.

I was never a big fan of "The Simpsons". I just didn't really care enough to watch. But, I do enjoy "Family Guy". Maybe it has something to do with the type of humor.

Used to like Simpsons, but can't stand self righteous leftist Lisa anymore. On Family Guy, Brian is the only character who comes off that sanctimonious, but it's used to make him look like a pompous ass.
