I like to think that Seth McFarland keeps Meg on simply to use for filler scenes to make fun of her. Most of the time she doesn't come on screen until Peter or someone else makes fun of her and I love it.
Love how she's always the fall guy to take the blunt of every joke or when Peter has to blame something embarrassing on.
I've almost died from laughter when my husband effortlessly drops "Shut up Meg!" into conversations when our teen daughter tries to say something. Fortunately, she takes it the intended way and we all start cracking up.
