Music intro to Quaqmire turning tricks documentary.

For anyone that is interested it is "Cristo Redemtor" by Donald Byrd, 1963. Very astute for whoever put it into the show. Very good jazz tune, you can check it out on YouTube. Strange to put it into that particular context but it seems to work.

Not really strange, the whole scene was copied from the HBO documentaries from the 90's about prostition and drugs, I believe it is the same peice of music they used at the start.

That was a take off on a real documentary, Hookers at the Point, by HBO.

I believe the real documentary used the same music, so including it was sort of a no-brainer on the part of the Family Guy people.

OK, I missed the HBO connection because I never subscribed to HBO. Anyway, I heard this cut months ago by accident and was impressed. Just wanted to spread the word around, great musical number by Donald Byrd. He later went on into fusion jazz.

It was sampled by the Belgian band "Magnus" in a rather nice song, 'Summer's here'.
