Are there any characters that don't get more pathetic...

Might have already been asked at some point but its something I've noticed lately. It seems EVERY character has become more pathetic and developed in a negative away as the show has progressed. The few characters that originally had some air of positivity have all crumbled. Lois, originally the responsible parent, is just as reckless/degenerate as Peter. Brian, the original straight man of the group is of course an insufferable pretentious liberal snob who is a total mooch. Joe, the macho alpha male who bonnie adored, is now an emasculated cripple who has lost most of his independence and whose wife hates him. Stevie kinda gets a pass because the matricidal schtick was gonna run dry so something had to change. Anyways, can anyone think of a prominent character that the show hasn't taken and made a sad sack in one way or another?
