Heath Ledger "Joke"

I'm not one to usually get all sensitive about a joke, but was there even a JOKE there to begin with?

It was a funny reference to that Dark Knight scene with Peter blowing up the vaccinations - that alone would have been funny if they just cut away after that.

I don't understand how making fun of a guy who accidentally OD'd with no joke attached to it...literally just saying "Oh, better go OD now" got past the writer's room. It just makes Seth Macfarlane look like a dick, and appears mean spirited for the same of being mean.

Welcome to Family Guy!

Don't forget, Laura Bush killed a guy.

reply

South Park is mean spirited too and that's why we love it and Family Guy for that matter. ICarly was mean spirited but it sucked.

Roger Waters and David Gilmour watch My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic

reply

I love both shows but I think family guy needs a long arc like South Park to revitalize the show's originality.

This doesnt make sense.

I'm saying family guy should step up their game to be more intelligent and hilarious just like South Park.the show needs to be more sophisticated too.

Big fan of Ledger, but honestly that joke came out of nowhere and it was one of the funniest of the entire series. The whole episode was the best in years, maybe ever for me.

reply

I don't laugh out loud much at FAMILY GUY much anymore, although I still find it amusing, and each episode there is usually at least one LOL moment that makes it worth watching. For me, the Heath Ledger OD'ing joke was that moment.

reply

Funniest joke of the entire series???!!! THAT joke? man

reply

Peter blowing up Quahog General Hospital was highly entertaining, they did a good job with that, also it's not MacFarlane's fault that Ledger OD'd in real life. Drugs are stupid and no one should be on them.

You just graduate from the DARE program? :-P

It was one of the worst cutaways I've seen in a long time, on par with Brian allowing a woman and her child to drown. American Dad's Heath Ledger joke was way better.

reply

If you know how to do good cutaways why don't be a writer then.

reply

It just makes Seth Macfarlane look like a dick, and appears mean spirited for the same of being mean.
But it was hilarious. Besides, it's consistent with something Peter would say.

reply

Yeah season 15 is really improving from the last 3 seasons which I still love in a much better way.

I think there is a whole sensory diagram that takes place in the exercise of placing the shot, and projecting it to us.. Like.. its one of the most iconic, situations, within a movie element, to the degree of the movie itself in its element to all of us, within to how Heath himself had mannered that element. A niche within a Niche, while all withhin its day, just being a movie production, where the camera and the editing goes away...

oh yeah... Heath OD'd. Like... the other side of the McDonalds Happy Meal Card Board Box, is the toilet you will be sitting on and what comes out of it.

Theres a true distinction going on, if you are just mindful enough to be of the right regards, in your living determination.,

Have they done a Phillip Seymour Hoffman joke yet? Needs to happen. Also Whitney Houston's kid (whatever her name was) needs to happen.
