Do you think Family guy should follow South Park's methods in intelligence?

I love both shows to death but South Park's been dominating in intellectual and hilarious humor for years while Family guy is still funny but lacks some depth and original plots. Should family guy be smarter by going back to the original days or find brand new character plots like South Park?

It was funny that Family Guy mocked Donald Trump with the whole tic tacs bit. I believe South Park has ripped on Trump mercilessly.

Unfortunately they can't really do satire because Family Guy is in production for about a year prior to airing
