Alec Sulkin to revitalize Family Guy

Recently in an interview executive producer Alec Sulkin said he's working to revitalize the show do you think he can fix the show I have faith in him

reply

Hell yeah. After 17 years since the pilot I still love this awesome show.

reply

I think after 16-17 years of comedy they should make FG an intelligent action adventure series instead. At least something more highbrow and sophisticated values making all the characters smarter.

reply

That'd be a change... A BIG change, considering what brainmush it has always been...

A show like FG is usually never meant to be "highbrow" and would most likely drive away the majority of the "fans", but hey, considering it was never funny maybe it'll be watchable at last?!?

reply

Hey the show may not be as good as it used to be but don't rip on it

reply

He could revitalize the show by cancelling it.

Damn, I'm thirsty, I want a beer! What about you, you want a beer?!

reply

No give the man a chance

reply

Yeah it's been 17 years since the show began. It has another good 5 years at best.

reply

I feel like the characters have all changed too much from their original selves for the show to be able to make a comeback or be as good or better than it was.

It's like with the Simpsons--after so many out of character actions by everyone, this show isn't recognizable.

reply

But what if they do a trilogy of going back in time and tell their former selves everything about the changes and they go to war with the writers?

reply

Or reboot themselves into brand new characters with three-dimensional depthness.

reply

Maybe he can at least work to make the episodes funnier and the characters more sympathetic and likeable, and tone down the unnecessary cruelty too

reply

I've personally never cared for the personality traits in characters. It's about who is more interesting for me.

reply

But at least Family guy still has some juice and the writers said they're trying to do their best.

reply

Family Guy has been absent of one major thing. That is simply character development. *beep* Meg has had two birthdays but Stewie is still one. They are still the same basic characters that they were in season 5 or sooner. While it is true that none of the adult cartoons really have a story other than whacky antics of a dysfunctional family, developing the characters would be a welcome change.

reply

I still love this show. I have been a fan since episode one. Some basic change to the characters personalities would be amazing. If a lesson learned in one episode was remembered in a later episode. Aside from some cutaways there really has not been many lessons. Quagmire, and Brian don't like each other, and Stewie still has a homosexual relationship with Rupert.

reply

I think if Alec Sulkin tries hard enough he could fix the show

reply

Unfortunately, that would never happen.

reply

I'm sure he can fix the show give the guy a chance

reply

I think we all should write to the family guy writers in order to help them fix the show by making the characters go beyond multidimensional. It'll also bring a lot of sophisticated edge to the storylines and new originality to the show.
