How do you think Angela will be written off the show

Do you think they'll retire her Simpsons style or will she just become a non speaking background character?

reply

Probably the first one.

I wonder if Mr. Weed will come back, despite the fact that Peter now works in a brewery and not in a toy factory.

reply

I wonder if she filmed any more voice overs for her before she passed, only time will tell. R.I.P. :(

reply

Mr. Weed died, remember? He choked on a dinner roll.

reply

James Woods died too, but he came back.

He was murdered by Diane Simmons. Who also died, but has not come back yet.

This will be a big speed bump to figure out how to get over. There is no nice way to write her out of the show. I am sure a lot people are annoying Seth McFarlene's Twitter over this. "Hey! Did you hear?! Carrie Fisher died! What are you going to do to Angela?"

reply

I don't know, but writing her off the show seems disrespectful to me somehow. I'd rather see them continue the character and either find an actor with a similar voice or try using archives from the show.

I have thought in recent years that Carrie Fisher and Candice Bergen sounded a lot alike. Perhaps Bergen could be persuaded to take over the role.

reply

For the longest time I thought it was Candice Bergen's voice. I never bothered to check because I assumed it was her. I only looked it up a few months ago. Then I came here to see what was going to happen now that Carrie Fisher had passed away.

It would be more disrespectful to do that. This isn't a case of Lacey Chabert not being able to commit to the show anymore because other things were were causing a conflict. The actor died. It would be rude to replace her with someone else, considering the circumstances (and not practical to try and splice together dialogue from past episodes to keep the character there with the same voice.) The best thing to do would be to just quietly write Angela off. They can explain it, or not. It's not like she was a main character, or even that much of an important one. The show won't be hindered without Angela there.

Guess Peter will get a new job.

Guess Peter will get a new job.
People don't leave jobs just because their supervisors aren't there anymore. Assuming they address Carrie's death, they probably will, Peter will most likely just get a new boss.

reply

To be fair to Fluttershy, it is about time that Peter got a new gig. He was only at the toy factory for about 2 seasons.

reply

Maybe it's possible Peter will somehow lose his job at the brewery and he'll need to get a new job or they'll kill off Angela since they killed off Mr. Weed.

AC/DC are Bronies

reply

considering its just a voice i would hope they would just get a new actor. no reason to kill the character off.

reply

I think Seth will handle it the same way he handled Frank Sinatra Jr's death, a final episode in 6 mos, or might move her last taping up to not wait the 6 mos. Then I'm sure there will be a new boss. I know it sounds disrespectful to retire her character, but I think that's most respectable. It'll be obvious that someone else is doing her voice since her voice was so iconic.

reply

I imagine it will be handled in a more or less respectful manner much like how Peter's mother Thelma died after Phyllis Diller's passing. Peter might learn of Angela's passing and possibly be asked to replace her because of some loophole in the hierarchy at the brewery; that alone has possibilities for a good A-plot...

"...And on this farm he had an igloo..."

reply

That's a brilliant A plot.
