I assume while Chris was gathering his stuff, Seth had to file that sell ticket before leaving so Chris could have already been out of the parking lot by the time Seth gets to his car as the FBI arrives.

While they obviously would have warrants for all of them and would try his house next and post his picture all over, a few hours to clean up after yourself and get ready can make all the difference in the world. Ask any narc officer how a few seconds delay can void their case (in a raid, flushing the stash down the toilet can make the difference between a 10 year stretch and a minor offence).

Thus clearing his desk, computer and contacting his lawyer (and getting prepped by him) before the cops get him would surely make a lot of difference on how his case is handled.
