I have no time for rap..whatever but BOILER ROOM was terrific. It should be sold as a package with Wall St. and Glen Gary Glen Ross. BAMM. So many strong characters. A Nia Long fan here, ever since. Probably Vin's most realistic role. The entire cast/crew Kennedy, Caan, Kaat, Everett Scott, etc. was right on Time.
Best movie of the past decade and a half? Boiler Room isn't even the best movie of the past 24 hours. I always see this movie on list of worst movies of all time. I only went on this message board after checking out Afflecks page cuz i couldn't believe he was cast as Batman.
There was a thread where everybody was laughing and making fun of Afflecks board room smile speech, so I figured I'd check out this page. Sure enough, a whole bunch of people liked this movie. Wall Street is in another stratosphere compared with this hunk of garbage. Wall Street: classic, Boiler Room? I can't think of a word less than garbage.
How can somebody like Wall Street AND like Boiler Room? It doesn't make sense. If you said you like Freddie Got Fingered or Gigli or Bridesmaids and you liked Boiler Room, then I'd understand. But not Wall Street.
I have to re-watch Wall Street now to see whether it's as good as I remember cuz I've been more entertained watching water boil than watching Boiler Room.

I've probably seen Wall Street 50 times, so I guess I love it. I also like Boiler Room. Where are these "worst movie" lists that you're finding Boiler Room on? Roger Ebert - the greatest film critic who ever lived - gave the movie 3.5 stars out of 4. 'Nuff said.

totally agree, just love all of the performaces in this,, and my favorite part was when they were at the apt, and reciting all of the lines from Wall St. are you going to bark all day little doggie,, or are you going to bite
absolutely...or... B. When Affleck makes his cameo as the badass to vet the potential brokers. "Anyone who sez that money is the root of all evil, Hasn't Got Any" Throws his car keys (for a Ferrari) on the table. etc.
C. After Seth tells the Vin character something urgent is happening, for privacy they move to the stairwell. As Seth stammers, The Vin character cuts the clutter with... "WHAT did YOU...DOoo? !!!

Jamie Kennedy is so obnoxious all the time that I can't see how anyone would applaud his presence in any movie.
Scott Caan is such a pretentious, superficial, conceited [BEEP]er, I can't see how anyone would applaud his presence in any movie.
Nicky Katt is such an arrogant, cocky [BEEP]er, I can't see how anyone would applaud his presence in any movie.
I hate big-faced Ben Assfleck too, though you didn't mention him.
I don't know what "right on time" means, but I assume it means you think they were all perfect and obviously I can't imagine anyone saying that about those 3. All 3 are fringe players at best and I cringe every time I have to endure one of them. In order of annoyance; Caan, Kennedy, Katt.

Actually PWG was "right on time" here. The characteristics of the players he hates exhibit were exactly what the roles ...CALLED FOR. Get it? PWG evidently cannot see the trees...due to the forest.

Actors act, get it?
After you assimilate that, maybe you'll comprehend that they could've gotten better actors to act like douche bags rather than guys like Scott Caan to just be themselves, get it?
I don't believe the intention was, for these day traders to be hated, in total. Maybe Nikky Katt's character was, but I'm sure there are plenty of helium brains that thought the others were rockin'.
And those eraser-head hair styles were pathetic! Do you have one of those?

Those guys were all supposed to be douchey and the actors portrayed them convincingly, especially Katt. Perhaps not the most incredible performances from them but they did the job.
I've seen Nicky Katt and Scott Caan many times and they are always the same. Katt always seems like a cocky smartass and Caan's spoiled, conceit always shows through. I've never seen either one in a role where I thought they must be likeable guys in real life.
