Seth's Volvo

It's a Volvo XC 70, remember during the beginning of the film he took off the tag "Jewish mom aboard" or something. Is the car his or his mother's? How weird... I don't know too many guys like him owning such a car.

It's not an XC 70; they were not around back then. It's probably a Volvo 850 Estate. I was wondering why a guy his age would buy such a car; a BMW 3 series goes for about the same price. Obviously his mom gave it to him.

it's a nice car.. a turbo wagon you can custom tweak the boost for a good quarter mile time.. or to get away fast ;)

You would have thought Seth would have exchanged his Volvo for something with more bling (considering he opened 40 accounts!) - His co-workers were driving BMWs Mercedes and Ferrari's yet Seth was turning up everyday in his uncool Volvo. Even at the end of the movie he is still driving the Volvo! (Maybe Seth was a scrooge or he was plain dumb and Vin Diesel (the real salesman) persuaded him to invest all his money into the phoney companies!).

i think that the volvo was exactly the sort of car he would have, reliable, practical (though i am not a fan, i like audi's). He doesnt feel the need to show off like his workmates, he has a good buisness at the start and could live it up proper, but he chooses to focus on actually making the money rather than spending it.

the volvo s70 and wagon model are very cool in T5 form. Volvo is cool

It was a Volvo V70 XC Cross Country, the four wheel drive version of the first V70 (which was a facelifted 850). The XC70 was the 4WD version of the next generation V70 (released in 2001). It was probably his parents' car that they handed down to him, hence the "Jewish Mother On Board" sticker. He didn't buy an exotic car because at first he probably wasn't making much money at the firm (he started off on a small salary and had to build up his earnings by making sales), his first 40 accounts went to Greg. Then he discovered that the whole thing was a scam and the FBI was closing in on them, so he wasn't about to start spending any money then.

Nope. XCs were around in 2000 when this movie was released. They came out in 1997.

Yes it's his mothers car. He didn't have his own. The only time you see him driving it too or from work. His mom loans it to him for the commute.
