He is a Scarlett Fever. (That is a real disease) In the first episode of Ozzy & Drix (it is called Home With Hector) they are chasing a germ (virus) named Scarlett. This germ has the exact same powers as Thrax does only all of Scarlett's fingers do the burning thing, while Thrax has only 1 finger that burns stuff. As for the ebola thing, Thrax was comparing himself to an ebola virus when he said "Ebola is a case of dandruff compared to me!"
I THINK ebola is a virus that eats your flesh so if you get it, you will lose your skin or parts of it.
Thrax is accutly le Mortre roja. Which means The Red death. Remember the little germ mentions him.

An off topic note, ebola actually liquifies your internal oragans very quickly. The fastest cases are about twenty-four hours, but it can remain dormant for a time (though I'm not sure how long or if there is indeed a limit). Nonetheless, Thrax's forty-eight hours would not beat out the severest cases of ebola. Poor guy. I feel sorry him, really. He was cool.
shareto add to that, ebola causes massive bleeding and hemorrhage in the body and scars your organ tissue. The platelets in the blood try to clog these "cuts" but eventually so much damage is done that you start to bleed out. Urin, mouth, nose, ears and even from the eyeballs, pretty sick!
If you ask me, when Thrax said ebola is like dandruff compared to him, honestly given the choice between a fever and liquifying of organs, id take the fever.
