Location of the LAPD building...

Hey gang,

I need some help. Can anyone tell me the location and name of the building that they used for the police department scenes? I thought it was pretty high-tech how the cops like Malone needed a card key to get to their divisions and for some reason, I feel like I've seen the set for the police precint in a previous movie but I can't tell where. If anybody knows, please help.

It's on South Grand Avenue, between W 5th. Street and W 6th. Street (Approx. 590 South Grand Avenue says Google Streetview). The building is the LA Public Library. The facade was modified for the film in the area where the bus is (see below).
