IT COULD (AND SHOULD) BE REMADE

With the advances in graphic and animation technology, shows like THUNDARR and THE CENTURIANS should put out new episodes. They would be vastly superior to the cheap and cheesy Hanna-Barbera output.

The Japanese anime creators in conjunction with Warner Animation could pull it off, as they did with THE JUSTICE LEAGUE, THE FANTASTIC FOUR, and even DUCK DODGERS.

How about as a live-action series? Primetime.

Too expensive to produce.

This is one of those cases where I'd love to tell you that you're wrong, but I fear that you're right.

It isn't the swords or sorcery that would be too expensive; it's the post-apocalyptic Earth. Even then, if it were just deserts, jungles, and grasslands, with the cracked Moon in the sky, it wouldn't be so bad. But having to have a ruined Manhattan one ep, a decimated Washington D.C. the next, and a shattered Cape Canaveral the ep after that would be just too much. And it wouldn't end there, since most eps would require original ruins and cityscapes of destroyed Old Earth.

The creatures could probably be done within budget; Hercules: The Legendary Journeys did it, and tech will have improved and gotten cheaper since then. But the settings would be just too much.

Maybe in another ten years.

I'd love to have a remake.

I know a movie adaptation in't on the horizon anytime soon, so I'd be happy just to have new episodes made, in the style of Batman: The Animated Series.
