Why does the cover state 'violence beyond reason'? There is hardly any in it, the effects are crap. And it is NOT banned in the UK, it's out fully uncut. This movie is sooo boring, dont believe what it is nasty cause it aint.
Unhinged should be binned and burned...cause it is the biggist load of crap ive ever seen FULL STOP and a total waste of £15...pity.
I'm just killing time on planet earth...that must be why im here.. Nutbag
I think everyone who even found this mildly entertaining is completely insane....it was the biggest pile of crap I ever saw!! Acting was horrible...music was cheap and horrible..there was not a funny part of the movie..and the violence was very tame. It was so slow at times, I wanted to slash my own wrists, and fought to stay awake through the long boring dialogue, waiting for something to happen. There is not even a category for this type of film..I am a fan of B Slasher movies, this was not one, I think I could have made a more interesting movie about my cat...and I have no experience whatsoever. Everyone needs to get their head checked out!!
I unfortunately bought this movie at BestBuy because it was on sale for 3.99. Big Mistake. It's like sitting through amazingly bad dinner theatre without even the benefit of food to take the edge off.
tracybldwn-1, that sucks! I mean, good for YOU, but I bought my copy at Best Buy for twice that much. Not to mention I got it with my birthday gift card...what a waste. I knew I should have gotten that Troma two-pack instead.
I just pissed away 9.99 for this trash! I bought it because of the banned in 1985 and out sold Poltergist line. I would feel better right now if I'd just lost 9.99 instead.
WTF...banned in the UK?! What was Parliament thinking? And where do they get off saying that this movie "out sold" Poltergeist? I've seen more terrifying, violent, pyschological and down-right gory movies on HBO. Luckily, I only paid $9 and the used DVD store is right down the street...this will not last long in my collection. Hell, "Dead and Breakfast" was a better buy than this...and that had Deidrich Bader and Jeremy Sisto. "Full nudity" (as the blurb stated)???? Not even a 10th of any good slasher movie! I'm pissed! I thought I was going to have a good night of crappy-in-all-the-right-ways movies, but alas, I was dreadfully wrong.
Dead and Breakfast was an okay, very low budget horror movie. This was an unadulterated terd. I thought this would be an exploitation with tons of violence, nope. The cover is the best thing about this movie and it's so slow, not in a good way either. No one should pay to see this. I'm glad other people are pissed about seeing it at Bestbuy and buying it. I think I spent 5.99 on it or something and I could get a Korean hooker with herpes for that!
Yes, the acting was terrible, its direction and photography inferior. But there was still something about the script and the lighting that recalled classic horror movies like The Old Dark House and Black Cat. Slowly-paced, thoughtful and tense, melodramatic psychological terror is at the heart of this movie.
It's a movie that's hard to like unless you know what you look for. :)
Sorry, I agree with the majority here. I've seen a lot of 80's slashers and this one is really, really poor. The dinner scene seemed to last for HOURS!! And all shot from the same camera position, how lazy/amatuer is that?
I'm glad to see SOME people saying it's not as bad as most people say it is, I have this sitting on my shelf waiting to be watched! But the more I read about it (bad or good, mostly the former), the more I want to watch it!
I paid like 3.00 or so from Bookman's in Tucson. It had its moments but I'm with everyone else, it pretty much stinks. I also was falling asleep most of the time, and doing a lot of fast fowarding as someone uses 20 minutes of the film walking around downstairs.
