What does the title mean exactly 'Wrestling with Shadows'

Don't get it too much does "shadows" represent betrayal (aka: vice and the screwjob)??

The reason Wacko Jacko died is because it's heart just couldn't BEAT IT anymore.

Wrestling with a shadow represents something that's futile. You can't wrestle a shadow. Bret couldn't wrestle the politics in the WWF.
