Sadako meets ... Wagner??

I recently saw Ringu for the first time, a few days ago.

I also just saw a production of Wagner's opera "PARSIFAL" on PBS, and at the very
beginning of Act II, suddenly there were dozens of Sadakos onstage. Sort of.

They are the 'flower-maidens' of the evil Klingsor; they attempt to seduce the hero
(Parsifal) - with no success, of course. Blah blah blah, etc.

But the amazing thing is, the producer (??) or whomever staged this production is
either familiar with Ringu - or, well, I don't know. Here is a still shot of the maidens:
(the closest one I could find online)

Actually, at the start of Act II, you don't see any of their faces at all - just that
long black hair hanging down, covering their faces entirely.

Anyway, I just thought it was weird, and possibly more than just a coincidence.

I find this rather amusing.

Commenting years later, but this almost sounds like someone in the production was making a cheeky pun reference to both "The Ring" and Wagner's "Ring" cycle.
