did the office (uk) lift from this or vice/versa?

this is very similar to gervais' the office. since it was the same time period, did one lift from the other? the concepts are identical although filmed differently.

Yeah, what Cohi said! How are they the same? One's a cringe-inducing mockumentary, the other is full of surrealist sketch humour.

There are quite a few office-related sketches filmed in a verite style on Big Train, but I don't think one lifted from the other. Most of us have worked in offices before, so it's a common subject to examine. Also, the makers of Big Train mentioned they used office locales b/c they were easy to costume and such.
