I'd just like to say that this made my first year english class a terrible class to be in, and for that I shun it's every aspect. But in all fairness it's better than the merchant of venice which I am currently studying in Second year.
i totally disagree. is a completly accurate portrayal of what went on in the ww1 with the evacuees, and the acting was brilliant. i just dont think you appreciate it/its not the type of thing you like, but even so, it is a brilliant film..... plus, its english! (way better than most american films of the same storyline/genre)
I agee with your sentiments x0 but I thought I would just point out that evacuation took place in WW2 not 1 you should do yourself a favour and read the original book.
I feel English can ruin anything. I took home my copy of Great Expectations and really enjoyed it, then we studied it and hacked it to pieces. I hated it by the end. It took me years to get over it.
