John Thaw is wonderful in this

As a big fan of John Thaw, I was mesmerised by his portrayal of Tom Oakley. Whether gruff or senstitive, he was wholly believable here in this wonderful and moving film. As a matter of fact, as much as I did like him in Kavanagh QC, The Sweeney and Buried Treasure, I think Goodnight Mister Tom is his finest hour after Inspector Morse.

Anyone else agree?
