R. Romano, K. James + B. Cosby in s01e20??

In the description of the s01 episode "Drive, they said" (e20) it is said that Ray Romano, Kevin James and Bill Cosby make uncredited appearences. I've seen this episode several times and I even checked it on DVD over and over, but I don't see them anywhere!?

Does anyone know what's going on? Is the information on IMDb incorrect, or were they possibly in deleted scenes?

Nope. No signature here. Sorry.

If they're not in the syndicated shows or on the DVD, my guess is they appeared only in original network airings of the episode.

Somedays it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.

At the end of the episode, Doctor Becker walked into his waiting room to find Doug Heffernan, Ray Barone and Hilton Lucas all sitting in chairs waiting to see the doctor. It was just a cameo for them as a crossover because they were in the other three comedies (Everybody Loves Raymond / King of Queens / Cosby) that aired along with Becker on Monday nights on CBS at the time the episode aired.

I just watched this episode and they must have cut their scenes out for syndication.

I've gone out of my way to look for them in the episode, but I didn't see them either.

All three actors appeared in a brief "tag" scene, the closing scene at the end of the episode.

This was in the originally aired episode only.

I have read that, for legal reasons, that tag scene was edited out when they packaged the episode for syndicated re-runs. And for the DVD set.

That's right. And this is quite pathetic if you ask me. Having a few characters make cameo appearances, when they are not saying or doing anything in particular doesn't need to be edited out. It's quite bizarre that they did this.

Why is it bizarre? They did it for legal reasons. Not for story-line or plot purposes.

Legal reasons? Such as what??

I don't know specifically.

But, that is what I read: that this editing was done for legal reasons.

Probably one of those "big name actors" (maybe Cosby?) put it in his contract: "you can broadcast this episode with my scene at the original airing and, after that, my likeness cannot be used in future syndicated reruns and DVD sets". So, possibly, as a result, there were no future royalties due to be paid to that actor (Cosby or whomever).

There could be a million different legal reasons. Mine listed above is just a guess.
