That's all I have to say. I'm sorry I sat through this stinking pile of faeces. The stench of sh!t was unbearable.

Ugh?! What kind of a garbage rationalization is that?
I wouldn't call this movie pretentious. It was just trying to copy SATC's narrative style. But the rape storyline... Hum, it was a non-starter. And a very disappointing way to carry the movie with, considering its resolution. I doubt I'll like this movie now (I was 16, when it came out. Summer 2000), if I rewatch it, though... I was a fan of these actors movies & TV shows, back then. So it worked, under the circumpstances, I guess.
